A slow blues in 6/4, ramblin' and sad. This track is simple but intense -- slow but hard. A quick introduction leads into a down-tempo shuffling R&B rhythm, with a big snare sound and a punchy kick. The cymbals really set the tone of mood, sometimes sparse, played softly and keeping the beat, but then at other times they rise and swell like a sonic wave. It's a dark and brooding track, but you get the feeling that no matter how bad things get, you gotta keep moving forward. Finally, like someone who has been kept down for too long, the track fights back. Sadness turns into anger as the song begins to build momentum over the last minute of the song-- the hits are harder and more intense, and the cymbals wash over everything for a big payoff at the end.
