This drum track is played with hot rods, a syncopated rhythm that includes some light ghost notes on the snare. A shaker pops in towards the beginning, as does a tambourine for beat four of each measure. All of the auxiliary percussion drops down to just the beat for a few bars, then slowly works its way back in. There are some occasional fills and cymbal hits in the background of the groove. The tambourine comes in more regularly as well as a light ride cymbal after a little while. Slight variations of the groove pop in and out of this drum beat, but the same basic relaxed feel remains throughout.
