There is mostly silence to start this drum beat, just occasional light cymbal sounds. The groove kicks in about 40 seconds in, a funky fusion beat with fast hi-hat notes and kick drum on the one and the "and" of two. The beat stays on this with a bunch of embellishments and funky little fills. At about 2:20, the hi-hat switches to a funky ride cymbal with prominent bell hits. It goes back to the hi-hat at the three minute mark. This groove holds out to the end with a bunch of cool fills along the way. The very end has some light cymbal work like the intro.
